Another milestone on my Toastmasters journey with the Distinguished Toastmasters (DTM) Award
In October 2014, I visited a Toastmasters Club in St Albert, Canada. I thought I was attending an appointment to polish my presentation and speaking skills after 23 years of procrastination. Little did I know that I was embarking on a lifelong service leadership development journey. On August 8, 2018, I reached a milestone to earn the Distinguished Toastmasters (DTM) designation. This award is the highest honour and recognition that can be earned by any member of Toastmasters International. It is a demonstration of outstanding leadership and communication skills used to help others in their self-development aspirations.
Attaining the award was not an easy task as the capstone project requires that a member sponsors or mentors a new club, or coaches a struggling club to become Distinguished. My capstone project was helping pioneer the first Toastmasters Club in Akure, Ondo State of Nigeria called Sunshine Toastmasters Club
Here in this photo, I am on a radio show of the FUTA FM radio station to promote Toastmasters to listeners in Akure, Ondo State of Nigeria.
